Previously, on lollipop & Marshmallow the icon for all the apps included apps without icons was green a top part of an Android's body. The new icon is an Android's head atop a teal cutting mat. You also see different icon shapes on different devices, like your see circular shapes on Pixel devices and square on nexus devices.
